Cartilage
Cartilage is found in joints. It is a cushioning material. It also makes up your ears and part of your nose.

Cartilage is:

  • tough
  • dense*
  • elastic
  • squeezable
Torn cartilage in the knee joint is a common athletic injury. Sometimes cartilage wears down so that bones rub against each other when they move. This is the painful condition known as arthritis.
