Unit 4: Up, Up, and Around

The fourth unit covers aviation and rocketry. In it, students apply the scientific principles that control airplane and rocket flight. They look at momentum, mass and velocity, as well as forces in flight, such as thrust, drag, weight, and lift. Students also learn about the g-forces experienced by astronauts and how they affect the human body.
